Being prepared is easy and quick to do. Follow these simple steps.
- Make sure you know were the main fuse board and incoming power switch is located.
- Keep a torch with full batteries somewhere safe and easy to find.
- Make sure you have your Electricians Number programmed in to your mobile phone or written down somewhere safe. (some modern home phones will not work in a power cut particularly wireless type phones.)
- Keep a copy of your Electricity bill somewhere you can find it easily. In the event of a power cut you will need to contact your supplier to report the problem and get updates their number will be on the bill.
- In the event off a power cut Turn off all your electrical appliances and lights, but leave one light switched on so you know when the power is returned.
- Keep your fridge and freezer doors shut it will last for sometime as long as you keep door opening to a minimum.
- When your power resumes, You should go around the house checking electric clocks, video timers etc. You may need to reset some clock settings
